The federal government has the capability to launch military strikes on the other side of the planet, but somehow abolishing Daylight Saving Time remains an impossible legislative achievement. Congress has been "working on it" for decades. The Sunshine Protection Act passed the Senate unanimously in 2022 and then just died. We put a man on the moon in 1969 and we still can't leave the clocks alone.
